Dublin Society interest, A George III silver-gilt medallion, signed Wiliam Mossop, oval form, the reverse inscribed, 'Presented by The Dublin Society to the Right Hon Lord Caher for his exertions in forming plantations of forest trees, July 11th, 1805', length 5.5cm, in a fitted case. ** The Dublin Society was founded in 1731 with the aim to promote and develop agriculture, arts industry and science in Ireland. The Royal prefix was adopted in 1820, when George IV became patron.
