An 18th century Austrian walnut bureau cabinet or Schreibshrank, in three parts, crossbanded and inlaid strapwork and parquetry stars, the top fitted with an arrangement of seven drawers around a cupboard door, the hinged fall enclosing three small drawers and flanked by two further drawers, the serpentine front base with ripple mouldings and three long drawers on bun feet, 76.5in (194.3cm) h, 50.5in (128cm) w, 26.5in (67.3cm) d.
