A Louis XVI poudre d'ecaille and gold mounted portrait box,
by Jean-Baptiste Lizon, with the charge and discharge mark of Julien Alaterre, Pairs 1772, the miniature attributed to Richard Cosway (1742-1821),
oval form, the hinged cover with a central inset miniature on ivory of a young girl in a pink dress with a black lace choker, the gold frame and borders pierced with ribbons and bows on a blue ground with gold linear inlay, gold lined interior, length 8.8cm.
