maker's mark only, possibly JMc, for James McEwan of Glasgow, circa 1795,
oval cylindrical form, flush hinged cover with a coat of arms, height 7.3cm.

The arms are those of Brown, for kin of The Reverend Richard Brown of Bute, whose arms were registered inn 1763.
