Winston Churchill interest; A set of six mid-18th century Irish silver shell dishes,
struck once with maker's mark, I.C, probably for James Connor, Dublin circa 1760,
plain scallop shell form, width 8.5cm, approx. weight 9oz. (6)

A private collection.
Purchased by the vendor's Father from the sale of Fine Old English and Foreign Silver, Christie, Manson and Woods Limited, King Street, London, February 16th 1966, lot 39. This sale included the property of The Right Honourable The Lady Spencer-Churchill G.B.E., and her lots were from 1 to 45. These were sold following the death of her husband on the 15th January 1965.
