Description

A George III silver swing-handled cake basket, over-struck with maker's mark of W and P Cunningham of Edinburgh, London 1767, shaped oval wire-work form, mounted with ears of corn, vine leaves and bunches of grapes, twisted swing handle, on an oval foot, engraved with an armorial, length 35cm, approx. weight 30oz. ** The arms are those of Leith of Burgh St.Peter's, Norfolk. Lt Col Alexander Leith, head of his family was created a baronet on the 21 November 1775.
