Description

A George II silver kettle stand, by James Shruder, London 1738, triangular form, shell and scroll border, the centre with a later coat of arms and with a chased scroll and shell border, on three shell hoof feet, length 24cm, approx. weight 22oz. ** The arms are those of Sir Michael Shaw-Stewart, (1806-1903) 7th Baronet of Greenock and Blackhall impaling Grosvenor. Sir Michael married lady Octavia Grosvenor of Fonthill Manor in 1852. She was the daughter of the 5th Marquess of Westminster, KG.
