Description

Two tin-glazed albarelli, one painted in blue with an empty crowned cartouche, the other with a broad foliate scroll titled 'Lab dani', probably 18th century, minor damages, 26cm. (2) Labdanis likely to an abbreviation of Labdanum - a resin obtained from the cistus species of rockrose. Still used today in the perfume industry, it had a medicinal use as a cure for coughs and rheumatism.
