An unusual Victorian novelty silver knife rest, by Reily and Storer, London 1840, modelled as two clasped hands with frilly cuffs, one end engraved with a crest and motto, the other with a monogram, length 8.5cm. ** The crest is that granted to James Platt Mawdesley of Lancashire in 1876.
