An early Martin Brothers stoneware vase by Robert Wallace Martin, shouldered form with pierced rim, incised and painted with a white swan swimming inside stiff leaf foliage borders, glazed brown, white and blue on a buff ground incised R W Martin Southall 3-1878, chip to base rim, hairline to neck 19cm. high
