Description
A Regency mahogany gentleman's washstand by Gillows, inlaid ebonised stringing, the reeded edge hinged top revealing eight bowl and utensil apertures, the central one with a lead liner, previously with a pull-up mirror, the front edge stamped 'GILLOWS', above two drawers one with divisions flanking a false front, above a long drawer, a cupboard a central drawer and a dummy drawer, the right side with a later pull-out deep drawer with an inset brass handle. on turned supports, brass caps and castors, 35in (89cm) h, 37in (94.2cm) w, 24.75in (63cm) d.
