Description
National Art Competition, "Award for Success", large uniface medal, made by the electrotype process, by Antoinne Vechte, awarded 1861 (James Ward), bust of Victoria left within medallion surrounded by swirl of naked figures with emblems of the arts and sciences, 140mm (Eimer 1512), in leather case of issue. Nearly extremely fine, some minor spotting.
The medal in this form was awarded between 1857 and 1865
