An early Victorian silver souffle dish and cover, by William Carter, London 1848, circular form, gadroon border, foliate mounted leaf capped side handles, with a pull out liner, and pull-off domed cover, engraved with a crest, width handle to handle 22.5cm, approx. weight 42oz. The crest is recorded for many families including: Ruthven, Sedley Swynnerton and Yates.
