Description

A pair of George III silver two-handled entree dishes and covers with liners, by Thomas Ellerton and Richard Sibley I, London 1803, circular form, gadroon borders and side handles, domed covers with reeded loop handles, the covers and bases engraved with an armorial, the plain liners engraved with a monogram, diameter handle to handle 35cm, approx. weight 144oz. (2) The arms are those of Hodson, (baronet) quartering Adair impaling Neville for Sir George Hodson (1806-88), 3rd Baronet of Hollywood House, co, Wicklow who married (1852) Meriel, daughter of Rev. Richard Neville, Rector of Clonpriest.
