A large Martin Brothers stoneware monk-bird jar and cover, by Robert Wallace Martin, modelled with upright proud stance and protruding stomach, his head feathers shaved, glazed in shades of brown and ochre, on ebonised wood base incised Martin Brothers 10-1895, London & Southall, to head and base 33cm. high
