An 18th century silver mounted tortoiseshell snuff box,
unmarked, circa 1740,
shaped oval form, the hinged cover with overlay of a courting couple in a classical landscape, the sides with birds and foliate motifs, and an inscribed cartouche, length 7.8cm.
Purchased from King and Chasemore 12 December 1978.
