Description
The Fishmongers' Company interest, an 18th century brass badge,
engraved 'Robt Wiseman Fellowship Porter Oct 5 1785', above the arms of the City of London and engraved 'No' and 'W' one side and 'J' 'O' the other, attached by two studs to a laced leather strap, total length 16.2cm.
The fellowship Porters appear to have consisted of more than one body. The Fishmongers' Company appointed two of its Freemen Tackle-Porters to attend the loading and unloading of vessels.
