rectangular form, gadroon border, incised 'SHERRY' and 'PORT', length 6cm, approx. weight 1.10z. (2)
The Coronet above letters is for the Heir Apparent, the badge below is for the Prince of Wales, and this is for The Prince Regent. He was created Prince of Wales within a week of his birth in August 1762. Because of his father's incapacity he was created Prince Regent in 1811. He acceded to the crown as George IV in 1820.
