A Regency Adam and Eve sampler, Maria Overton finished this work in the 12 year of her age August the 4th 1812, worked three verses, birds, a crowned lion within a diamond shield, trees, insects, animals, two garden temples with cherubs, a shepherd and a shepherdess with sheep, with a tooth inner border, the outer border of trailing florets, 16 x 12.5in (40.5 x 32cm).
