An early 19th century sampler, Mary Davies in the 14 year of her age, worked a cottage with trees above verse, a small countryside scene with a windmill, a cornucopia vase of flowers above a summer pavilion, vines, birds and animals, the whole bordered by scrolling buds, 18 x 12.5in (46 x 32cm).
