A Chinese armorial cream jug c.1722, decorated with the arms of Trevor impaling Weldon, amidst tied scrolls, famille rose flowers and pomegranates, the cover lacking, 9.5cm. Provenance: the Clifford Henderson collection. Purchased from Heirloom and Howard in 1995. This service was made for Thomas Trevor, 1st Baron Trevor, who held a variety of legal and political offices, including Lord Privy Seal.
