A large and early Martin Brothers stoneware vase, by Robert Wallace Martin, shouldered baluster form with cylindrical neck, incised with a frieze of roosting birds, between arched architectural borders, with mon designs, the neck with overlapping foliate repeat, in shades of blue, brown and green on a buff ground incised 149 1877 R W Martin London, restored to base of neck, 63cm. high
