Description
A Louis XVI cube parquetry side table, with kingwood and fruitwood banding and stringing, the rectangular top with a three quarter bead gallery, above two end frieze drawers and a later pull out bag, on square moulded edge tapering legs, 27in (68.5cm) h, 26.75in (68cm) w, 19in (48cm) d.
A hand written label to one drawer states - This Table belonged to my dear friend Mrs Brown, and was left to me by her Husband (who survived her two years) The Revd William R Brown, who died on the 17th of December 1894. Annie Massey.
The table originally belonged to Mrs Siddons to whom it was given by King George the 4th.
