Description
A Charles I tentatively ascribed West COuntry apostle spoon, the gilt figure of St Matthew, with a Sacred dove nimbus, the back of the bowl pricked 'M H' over 'L' over '1667', makers mark only, struck once in the bowl H P [conjoined] possibly by either Henry Punchard of Dartmouth or Henry Powning of Exeter, 1640-50, 7.25in (18.5cm), 1.6oz.
