Description
An early 18th century unascribed silver Hanoverian Rat-tail pattern tablespoon,
marked twice TM with a crown above and star below and sterling, circa 1710-20,
the reverse of the bowl with a plain rat-tail, the reverse of the terminal with a monogram, length 19.6cm, approx. weight 1.9oz.
For marks see Jacksons, Ian Pickford Edition, The Antique Collectors Club, 1989, page 520, where it is put at an earlier date of circa 1674. Stylistically this spoon must date from the first quarter of the 18th century,
