Description
Faberge. A rectangular silver cigarette case with lime green guilloche enamel decoration, laurel borders. Hinged compartment to one end containing striker. Diamond set thumb piece. The cover marked for Faberge in cyrillic with makers mark for August Hollming and 88 zolotnik mark and with three rubbed marks to the side. With faint scrached inventory number 24049. The body marked with kokoshnik and zolotnik mark and workmaster's initials. Re-enamelled and later gilt interior. Damaged thumb piece. Faberge records hold that a red enamel box bearing the same inventory number was sold to Princess Alexis Orloff on 24th December 1913 for £23.
