United States Interest: An interesting, small, late 18th century Dutch bowl, circular form on a flared foot embossed with punch-beading, flowers and scrolls and a stag being pursued by a hound, inscribed * "Mrs Laura Wolcott Gibbs from her friend Mrs Maria Murray 1851" and initialled "AEW 1954", by Ate Offringa, Leeuwarden 1775, 4.5in (11.5cm) diameter, 3oz. * Laura Wolcott Gibbs, (American 1794-1870) was the daughter of Oliver Wolcott who served as secretary of the US Treasury and later Grovenor of Connecticut. He was notably one of the 13 signatories of the US. Declaration of Independence.
