An early Victorian rosewood Sutherland table by John Bewes of Gillows, the twin flap top with twin gates and turned tapering legs with brass castors, stamped COPE COLLINSON PATENT, the twin baluster end supports to a platform united by a turned stretcher, on flattened turned feet with sunken brass castors, the platforms stamped I. BEWES, 29.5in (75cm) h, 46.25in (117.5cm) open, 32in (81.5cm) w. John Bewes, Lancaster was listed in the Gillows records working from 1834-1849.
