The Opening of Tower Bridge, gold City of London Dignitary's Medal, the Laying of the Memorial Stone, 21 June, 1888, view of the Royal Yacht passing through the bridge, enamelled lettering, rev., lacking (?) central roundel, total wt. 24.5gms, 53 x 29mm, crown suspender and City arms on suspension bar. Except as stated, extremely fine, very rare.
Construction started in 1886 and took eight years, and officially opened by The Prince and Princess of Wales when, indeed, the Royal Yacht did pass through the bridge.
