Description

A fine and rare Chinese cloisonné lobed jardinière Qianlong 1736-95, decorated on a turquoise ground with four panels of coiled archaistic dragons, the rim with the eight Buddhist emblems, the base with a cracked-ice design, the rim incised with a key fret, all raised on four cloud-shaped feet, 19cm. Provenance: formerly in the collection of Lü Xianguang (1906-94), a student of the famous painter Xu Beihong (1895-53). Cf.
