Description

A small pearlware commemorative lustre jug c.1815, celebrating Wellington's victory at Waterloo, one side printed in black with a gout sufferer being poured a glass of wine, inscribed 'Tidings of Peace or a Remedy for the Gout', the reverse with a poem of victory and celebration, beneath a silver lustre rim, a crack to the base, 11.3cm. Paper label for the Glaisher Collection, no.4884.
