Description

A rare printed pearlware jug of Napoleonic interest c.1803, printed in black with The Governor of Europe Stopped in His Career, Bonaparte dancing in temper on a map of Europe, the reverse with John Bull out of all Patience, a cavalry volunteer riding the English Lion and chasing the doomed French leader, some faults, 17.5cm high. The first print was published by Fores in April 1803, the second is believed to have been drawn by Piercy Roberts and was published by William Holland in August of the same year.
