A Transitional style rosewood, fruitwood and marquetry bonheur de jour, gilt metal mounted, decorated leaves, flowers, musical instruments, a pallet and brushes, a castle in a landscape, urns of flowers and a scroll inscribed 'De par le Roy Versailles 1774', all with penwork highlights, the superstructure with a pierced brass gallery above a bank of six drawers, a frieze drawer with an inset writing surface and three drawers above a tambour shutter enclosing four drawers flanking another tambour and two further drawers on cabriole legs united by a breakfront undertier, late 19th century, 37in (94cm) h, 25in (63.2cm) w, 19.25in (48.8cm) d.
