Description
A Chinese blue and white circular jardinière c.1640, painted with scholars and their attendants in a continuous river landscape scene, with one figure standing on a rocky promontory, looking over at fishing boats beneath the moon, the base with a faint star crack, 20cm.
Provenance: a private American collection in California, purchased from Imperial Oriental Art, New York, 3rd April 2002.
