Description
A carved oak bed, the panelled headboard with split mouldings, arcading and strapwork above a frieze with a crest flanked by scaly beasts, the front posts with Tudor roses, incorporating 17th century and later elements, 84.75in (215.5cm) h, 76.5in (194.5cm) w, 55.5in (141cm) d.
Provenance: This bed belonged to the Egerton-Warburton family and was bought from Lady Ashbrook (née Elizabeth Egerton-Warburton, b 1911). She said that it had been hers as a child, and had been restored a generation earlier by the estate joiner.
