A Russian mammoth ivory carved box, allover carved with scrolling leaves and foliage with mythological beast, the hinged lid, warped, with a circular panel of Herculese with the Nemean lion, with a banner inscribed in Cyrillic, to a silk and paper lined interior, with four further panels to each side engraved a ship, portrait medaliion, and flowers, all with inscriptions, on ball feet, 3.5in (8.6cm) h, 5.25in (13cm) w, 3in (7.4cm) d.
