A matched pair of George III silver meat platters, one by Daniel Smith and Robert Sharp, London 1761, the other by William Holmes, London 1781, shaped oval form, rope-work border, engraved with a crest, on engraved 'No. 36' and scratch weight '25.13', the other 'No.12' , '24' and scratch weight '24.16' length 35.7cm, approx. weight 46oz. (2) The crest is that of Willat or Willet of Wathamstow, Essex.
