Nadia Benois was the niece of Alexander Benois, famous for his scenery and costume designs for Diaghilev's Ballets. The Chenhalls were friends of Nadia and her husband 'Klop' Ustinov, parents of Peter Ustinov. Joan was thought to have done undercover work during World War II.
