A Chinese soapstone carving of Guanyin 18th century, wearing gently billowing robes, her hair in a high chignon secured with peony, holding a vase over her right shoulder and pouring holy water into breaking waves at her feet, 9.3cm.
Provenance: from the collection of Luís Esteves Fernandes (1897-1988).
