*A massive pair of Chinese red cinnabar lacquer vases 19th or 20th century, each elaborately caved in relief with large, shaped panels containing five-clawed dragons contesting flaming pearls of wisdom on a wave ground, the necks with smaller panels depicting confronting dragons between ruyi-head borders, all reserved on bold, scrolling lotus flowerhead designs, each high foot with stiff leaves, lacquered black to the interiors, 63.8cm.
