A Japanese lacquered wood netsuke of a shoujo 19th century, leaning on a sake jar and wearing an elaborate kimono decorated with phoenixes and clouds in hiramaki-e, her long hair in red lacquer, unsigned, 4cm.
Provenance: from the collection of the 2nd Viscount Bearsted, and thence by descent.
