λ A Japanese ivory netsuke of a sennin 18th century, wearing mugwort leaves at his waist and shoulders, holding a hossu fly whisk and a lotus flowerhead, a smaller figure reading a makimono amongst the petals, unsigned, 9cm.
Provenance: from the collection of the 2nd Viscount Bearsted, and thence by descent.
