A Japanese tsuishi red lacquer cylindrical netsuke c.1900, carved with a sage holding a gnarled staff and standing between fences in a mountainous landscape, the himotoshi to the side with a soft metal ring, unsigned, 6.4cm.
Provenance: from the collection of the 2nd Viscount Bearsted, and thence by descent.
