Description

A heddle pulley, possibly Dan, carved as a standing female figure with a crested coiffure, one side with incised line decoration, with a long neck and with both hands on the abdomen, the legs with an old 'native' repair, white inventory number 277, 13in (33cm) high, on a later stand.

Provenance: Ernest Ohly, Berkeley Galleries, London. Purchased March 1962.
