Description

A Chinese red cinnabar lacquer dish probably late 16th century, carved in relief with four boys playing blind man's buff attended by three figures on a terrace before a pagoda with distant mountains flanked by pine, willow and maple trees, the border with ruyi-heads, the reverse with peony flowers and leaves, together with a hardwood stand, 31.5cm. (2)
Provenance: purchased in the late 1960s from Bearnes Auctioneers.
