Description

A fine Chinese pale celadon carving of a recumbent horse 17th or 18th century, with its head turned over its back and its legs tucked neatly beneath the body, a small monkey clambering on its back, the animals' features finely defined, the stone with mottled white and russet variations, 8.3cm.

Provenance: formerly an English private collection.
