Description

A pair of Chinese hardwood side chairs 18th/19th century, the central splats each with two marble panels, the seats with an inset rattan panel, supported by scrolling aprons within cylindrical legs joined by four stretchers, 93cm x 48cm x 40cm. (2)

Provenance: William Cleverley Alexander (1840-1916), Aubrey House, Aubrey Walk, Holland Park, London. Purchased from Dante Gabriel Rossetti, by repute.
