Description

A Chinese hardwood and lacquered eight-legged stand 19th century, the octagonal top decorated in gilt with four pagodas in a mountainous landscape, the apron pierced with ruyi-head-shaped panels above slender legs which elegantly curve to the base, which is further decorated with a gilt floral roundel and stylized leaf designs, 94cm x 51cm.

Provenance: Field Marshal Earl Kitchener of Khartoum (1850-1916), and thence by descent.
