A Chinese Yixing teapot and cover made for the Thai market 19th century, the body of compressed circular form, the surface with a high shine, the finial, spout and rims with gilt, the lid marked Shui Ping, the base with a poem which reads shan shui zuo zhu ren, Meng Chen, 13.2cm. (2)

Provenance: from the collection of Friedrich Wilhelm Sohm, purchased from Bluett & Sons, London, c.1957.
