λ A Chinese coral snuff bottle 18th/19th century, carved in high relief with a large peony bloom to one side, and with magnolia to the reverse. The neck and stopper with key fret bands, the oval foot with reticulation, an associated hardwood stand, 6cm. (2)

Provenance: an English private collection. Purchased from Cyril Andrade, annotated on a receipt dated 5th May 1945, for £40. A copy of the original invoice is available.
